Bang Bang Bangkok!

October 5, 2014

DSC0375424 hours. Sun up to sun up.  That’s it. That’s all the time I had to make the most out of a long layover in Bangkok this past spring.  Despite having my thoughts riddled with that all too familiar nervous tick that comes along with solo travel, one thing was certain. I was going to dive into this adventure, feet first! With civil unrest permeating throughout the city and the most oppressive weather of the year rapidly approaching, what was I going to do with my first ever 24 hours in Asia?  Answer: Every damn thing possible! So with the aid of a last minute tour guide from BKK Tours and a few recommendations from friends, I set out into this captivating city to try and get more bang for my Baht!

DSC03944DSC03975DSC03989 DSC03997 DSC03999 DSC04022 DSC04043 DSC04048From the awe inspiring architecture of the Marble Temple (Wat Benchamabophit) to the grandiose & ornate design of the Grand Palace to the most mouth watering street food this side of the world, I definitely got a small taste of this enchanting city and I can’t wait to go back for more. My 24 hours in Bangkok ended in an area known as Soi Cowboy which was notoriously featured in The Hangover Part 2. I’m just gonna go ahead and leave that one right there! Hope you enjoyed!

    Hi Modupe!
After making the decision to visit Thailand for my 40th birthday next year, I decided to reach out to you & find out what your experience was like in Bangkok. Your pictures are simply beautiful. You captured every beautiful experience- perfectly.

    1. Do you remember which tour package you purchased?
    2. If you were to do it all over again, would you purchase another package or would you visit The Palace, and Wut Pho’s Reclining Buddha on your own?
    3. I know you were there for only 24 hours, but do you have any suggestions?

      Hello Jeneil,

I don’t remember what tour I purchased but the one suggestion I might have is for you to sleep little and try to see as much of Bangkok as you can!
