The Golden Hour.

December 10, 2014

I make a futile attempt to wipe the slumber from my eyes.  I can’t help but think that this mind numbingly painful jet lag is for the birds.  I start plotting a way to sneak back to my warm bed when I feel a light tap on my right shoulder.  I quickly turn around to find myself nose to nose with Cliff.  He’s got a tired yet euphoric look spread across his face. He raises his hand and points in a direction above my head. “Have you looked up yet?”, he asks.  I’m confused but turn to raise my head in the direction of his finger anyway.

I gasp.

“Oh my God!”, I whisper.

The snowcapped peaks of the Himalayas are dancing in the glorious light of sunrise.

Where: Paro, Bhutan
