Arrived! So, remember that time I said I was going to tell all about how I keep my sanity intact during these long winter months?  Well, thanks to the brilliant teams at Travel Noire and the Tourism Office at Canton de Vaud, I’ll be taking y’all on a great winter esape through the intriguing and breathtaking sites of Canton de Vaud, Switzerland!

First up? The Olympic capital city of Lausanne! With French, Swiss and German influences living happily ever after in this enchanting city, it’s pretty easy to see how this melting pot attracts curious travelers from all over the world.

During the winter tourism season you can explore the city’s main attractions without the hustle and bustle traffic of the summer months.  Be sure to stop by  the Parc De Montebenon, a captivating locality even in its snow covered silhouettes.

With the majestic Swiss Alps, Lake Geneva and the French coastline set as the backdrop to Lausanne, you’ll definitely get a healthy dose of sensory overload.  In a good way, of course!

Last but not least, what’s a melting pot without an endless array of culinary delights? So much to eat, so little time. Try the best ‘hot chocolate’ in town at Le Barbare. Definitely unlike any hot chocolate I’ve ever tasted!

Just because temperatures may be dropping in your neck of the woods, doesn’t mean you have to miss out by waiting till spring to start your travel season! Put down that cookie dough flavored ice cream – ok, maybe just one more bite –  and get lost in Switzerland.  Let’s Go Yesterday!
